Staying at Dudwell

Dudwell School is located in the grounds of Caroline Waldegrave’s stunning family home, Dudwell Field Farm. The accommodation was converted at the same time as the cookery school next door, and comprises 4 beautifully decorated twin rooms, guaranteeing you a good night’s sleep before you start your day.

The rooms can accommodate 8 students at any one time, with the beds able to be converted to doubles as necessary. Please see below for a gallery of more images of our accommodation and facilities.

All linen and towels are of course included, while each room has an en-suite bathroom, either with rainforest showers (3 rooms) or a roll top bath (1 room) for an added touch of luxury.

Meals are taken in our beautiful summerhouse, with all food and wine in the evening included in our course fees. Breakfast is typically buffet-style, with a selection of fresh fruit, toast, cereals, croissants, juice, tea and coffee available.

If you are staying with us, students are advised to arrive in time for supper on the evening before the course begins, so that we can start cooking the following morning. Directions and a map to the school can be found under the Contact tab.

Courses can also be undertaken on a non-residential basis at a 15% reduced fee, and there is no single room supplement.

Our Recreational Facilities

Next to the rooms, you will find a plenty of things to keep you entertained when you are not in the kitchen. We have a tennis court, heated outdoor swimming pool, snooker table, ping pong table, badminton facilities - and a rather bumpy croquet lawn - which are all at your disposal for the fun in the afternoons. You could even just take a walk or relax in our extensive gardens.

There is also a large library with a home cinema and a wonderfully comfortable TV room if you want to just relax for a few hours, as well as a variety of after-dinner games. We also have a sauna bath you may use. Students will be able to access free wi-fi and there are laundry facilities available.

If you’d like to venture further afield, Wells with its Cathedral, Glastonbury with its Tor and Cheddar with its caves are all within twenty minutes’ drive. Bath is also around 40 minutes away.
