Dudwell School specialises in short, residential cookery courses, held in Caroline Waldegrave’s purpose-built kitchen in the heart of the Mendip Hills, Somerset.  The kitchen has been designed and equipped for professional use, and is set up for you to have an enjoyable and relaxed learning experience.

 

During your time here, you will benefit from Caroline’s vast knowledge, experience and passion for food, built up through over 40 years in the food industry - firstly as head chef for Prue Leith’s catering business in the early 1970s, then as founding Principal, former Managing Director and co-owner of Leiths School of Food and Wine. 

 

Class numbers are limited to 8, so Caroline’s personal encouragement, tips and tricks will be a key part of your progression while you are here.  Guests are also able stay in the beautiful en-suite accommodation, right next to the school.

 

Scheduled courses are typically four days long, and are designed both for guests with little cookery experience, as well as for those who want to refresh and develop their cooking skills.  Although there are courses currently available for booking through 2019, Caroline’s extensive teaching expertise means she is also able to tailor a completely bespoke course around your specific interests or skill-set.  Bespoke courses can be arranged for anything from a morning through to five days, during the week or at weekends, and for up to 8 people.

Scheduled Four Day Courses

Dudwell School’s main offering is a four day practical cookery course (maximum of 8 participants), which is designed both for guests with little cookery experience, as well as for those who want to refresh and develop their cooking skills - whatever your level, you will find new confidence and pleasure in cooking.

Bespoke Courses

We can tailor a completely bespoke course around your specific interests or skill-set.  Bespoke courses can be arranged for anything from a morning through to five days, on a residential or non-residential basis, during the week or at weekends.  For groups of up to 8 people of all ages.
